Dr Prutha Desai
I have an MBBS and MD in Psychiatry from India, where I also received training in Psychotherapy. When living in India, I represented the AFS Cultural Exchange program at United Nations in 2005, as well as given talks on mental resilience at the Entrepreneur Development Institute of India and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
I moved to the UK in 2020 on the Medical Training Initiative scheme run by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Although I currently work in Perinatal Mental Health, I have worked previously in various subspecialities including Forensic and Acute Mental Health. I have been a DBT skills group facilitator, and I am very passionate about preventative psychiatry, perinatal psychiatry, neuropsychiatry and cultural psychiatry.
Outside of work, I love animals, and I am still learning how to keep indoor plants alive!
